YAP-II Karnal
A student Mr. Sunil of 5th class from Govt. Primary School, Model Town was very much unaware when we started the programme in the school. He had generally absented from the school. He comes from middle class of society. His father earns money for their family’s survival by facing many difficulties. But the Sunil did not understand the parent’s problem. He had adopted many dirty habits like not bathing, open defecation, not using soap after toilets, writing by chalk on the wall of school, throwing chocolates and biscuits wrappers here & there in the school ground. Mrs. Ravi, Eco Club Incharge of the School informed us about that boy. We talked him to participate in the programme. But he refused. Then we taken oath by our heart that we have to take it as challenge. Then it will be a good success story for others inspiration. Then we approached him twice. Then by very difficulty by convincing him at last he agreed to be mentor for the school eco club. He started taking interest in the programme after orientation by our activities. When we given him the responsibility to nail check, bathing check and waste throwing check of the students. He efficiently started perform the work. Even he started teach about the issue to the guilty students. In our writing competition activity now he got 2nd prize in Karnal from Deputy Commissioner on 28th September, even then the students of up to 12th class from various schools had participated. He says “Yes my life has been totally changed and I am very much conscious to protect natural things like river etc.”
YAP-II Yamunanagar
A girl student named Ms. Monika of Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Old Sabji Mandi is a good student by study wise. But she was very much unaware when we started the progr5amme in the school. She comes from middle class Punjabi family. Monika had not understood the importance of cleanliness. She had adopted many dirty habits like not bathing many days, not using soap after toilets, throwing chocolates and biscuits wrappers here & there in the school ground. Mrs. Taneja, Eco Club incharge of the school informed us about this girl. We talked her to participate in the programme. But she denied. she don’t take bath for 10 to 15 days only clean the face and come to the school in dirty uniform. Then we taken oath by our heart that we have to take it as challenge. Then will have a good success story for others inspiration. Then we approached her gradually. After very difficulty by convincing her she agreed to be mentor for the school eco club. She started taking interest in the programme after orientation by our activities. When we given her the responsibility to hold FGDs and other programme in the school. Then she efficiently started perform the work. Even she started teach about the issue to the unaware students after class time. Now she started to discourage the students who had dirty personal hygiene habits. In our writing competition activity now she got 1st prize on town level and in Debate competition she got 1st position on school level. She warded by the distinguished guest Mr. B.S.Dhawan prize distribution ceremony during Annual Eco Meet at GSSS, Jagadhri on 27th September. She had already awarded by the principal of GGSSS, Old Sabji Mandi, YNR for Debate Competition previously. He said “It is dream like that I became good citizen, the programme changed my life style. ”
